Dalam rangka mewujudkan program sertifikasi internasional di kalangan mahasiswa, Institut Informatika dan Bisnis (IBI) Darmajaya menyelenggarakan Trainer of Trainer (TOT) bagi dosen setempat, kemarin (25/8). Berlangsung di Information Acces Centre (IAC), TOT dilakukan untuk melatih dosen menjadi trainer mahasiswa.
Wakil Rektor Bidang Akademik dan Riset IBI Darmajaya, Drs. Envermy Vem,. M.Sc., mengatakan TOT diikuti 9 dosen dari jurusan Sistem Komputer dan Sistem Informasi. Selama tiga hari hingga Rabu (27/8) mendatang, para peserta diberi pelatihan sertifikasi Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) yang diisi oleh trainer dari Multimatic, Ikmal Maulana, S.Kom, MT, MOS, MTA, ACA.
Dikatakan Vem, seiring ditetapkannya program sertifikasi internasional dalam kurikulum perguruan tinggi, maka IBI Darmajaya menyiapkan dosen bersertifikasi internasional yang nantinya akan berperan sebagai trainer bagi mahasiswa. Hal ini, kata dia, merupakan salah satu konsekuensi yang harus dilakukan dosen, bahwa untuk menjadi trainer dosen harus terlebih dahulu lolos dalam sertifikasi.
“TOT ini bertujuan mendorong para dosen untuk bisa mempersiapkan diri untuk mengikuti ujian sertifikasi sesuai program studi (Prodi) masing-masing. Setelah lolos, dosen akan menjadi trainer yang mentransfer ilmunya ke mahasiswa. Setiap mahasiswa wajib mengantongi minimal satu sertifikat internasional” ujar dia.
Menghadapi hal itu, Institut Informatika dan Bisnis Darmajaya siap membuka kelas internasional dan program fast trackmulai tahun akademik 2017/2018. Program tersebut sebagai upaya mempersiapkan lulusan berkualitas, berkompetensi, dan berdaya saing global.
Wakil Rektor Bidang Akademik dan Riset Darmajaya, Dr. RZ. Abdul Aziz, ST., MT mengatakan, Darmajaya siap membuka program international class untuk jurusan Manajemen. Karena jurusan itu telah memiliki kesiapan sumber daya manusia, khususnya tenaga dosen untuk mendelivery seluruh materi perkuliahan dalam bahasa Inggris.
Program international class Darmajaya terbuka bagi mahasiswa dalam negeri dan luar negeri khususnya Asia Tenggara.Syarat mendaftar kelas internasional diantaranya memiliki nilai Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) 450 dan lulus proses seleksi
